The Mustang Air helicopter, which had been missing since Friday afternoon, has been found safe in Lapchi.

The helicopter was found landing in a field near the Lapchi Gumba due to bad weather, said Dolakha Deputy Superintendent of Police Manoj Kumar Lama. He said the helicopter was found in an emergency landing in Lapchi due to bad weather in that area.

It has been revealed that the Mustang Air helicopter, which had brought employees of the hydropower project from Kathmandu, went directly to the Lapchi area without landing here due to bad weather in Charikot. Since it is a restricted area, only a representative deployed by the District Administration Office, Dolakha, can go to that area.

Assistant Chief District Officer Aulokh Bahadur Ale said that the helicopter went directly to the Lapchi area due to bad weather. The helicopter, which went to the Lapchi area, landed at a place called Hurkum, which is the powerhouse of the 51-megawatt Upper Lapchi Hydroelectric Project under construction, said a local Karmawaisar Sherpa.

After eating lunch in the area, the helicopter took off from there when the weather started to deteriorate. The helicopter then lost contact.
