After senior leader of the Rastriya Swatantra Party Balendra Shah became the Prime Minister, the residents of his ancestral village Ekdara Rural Municipality celebrated by distributing laddus.
They were excited after Shah was appointed Prime Minister on Friday and raised the slogan 'Abki Bar Janata Ke Sarkar'. Local Naval Pasman said that the locals stopped passengers and vehicles passing through the village throughout the day on Friday and fed laddus to the passengers and vehicles passing through the village.
He said, 'Madhesiya Chhaura Pradhan Mantri Beingelai Ta Sab Khushi Hai. (Everyone is happy that a Madhesi son has become the Prime Minister)'. Sah said that local youths had collected money and started making laddus since morning and they were distributed happily after the oath-taking.
Badrinarayan Sah, a local of Ekdara, said that he was excited after Balendra became the Prime Minister. 'We believe that Balendra will end the corruption that has increased in the country, we believe that there will be no more Kakhapakha in Nepal,' he said.
Local Shankar Pasman said that on the day of Ram Navami, lamps were lit at the Mahadev temple in the evening to celebrate Shah becoming the Prime Minister. Local Bisheshwar Sah said that after Balendra became the Prime Minister, the youth exchanged happiness by wearing abir and bursting crackers.
Along with Ekdara, locals have also celebrated in other areas of Mahottari. Local youth are saying that they are increasingly confident that the country, which has been plagued by problems such as corruption, misrule and unemployment for a long time, can now be taken in a new direction.
