Attorney General Savita Bhandari has resigned from her post. According to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Bhandari submitted her resignation a while ago.

Bhandari was appointed as Attorney General by the previous interim government's Prime Minister Sushila Karki on 29 Bhadra. The newly appointed Prime Minister Shah was appointed and sworn in by President Ram Chandra Poudel on Friday.

Bhandari resigned from her post after a new Prime Minister came and the Prime Minister who appointed her left the government. Bhandari resigned as per the tradition of Attorney Generals resigning after a change of government. As a legal advisor to the government, she was embroiled in some controversies. Bhandari became Nepal's first female Attorney General.
