Prime Minister Sushila Karki has said that the election was a success of the government led by her to normalize the uncomfortable situation.

Addressing the nation on Thursday evening, Prime Minister Karki thanked everyone who helped in the election and said that she was leaving with some satisfaction and a lot of hope.

She said that she is confident that the new government to be formed under the leadership of the youth will work towards ending corruption in the country, establishing good governance, employment within the country, economic development and social justice as per the demands and aspirations of the Gen-G movement. She also wished the government complete success for this.

‘The elected government, which had a period of 6 months, was not in a position to do all the work expressed in the Gen-G movement. However, we have definitely prepared some foundations. We have encouraged the bodies investigating complex crimes and corruption to work with complete professional independence.’ As a result, the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority and the Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police have initiated cases in long-suppressed cases. The government has also taken historically tough steps against irregularities such as not working on contracts and not paying electricity bills,' she said.

Prime Minister Karki is leaving tomorrow (13 Chaitra). Tomorrow, Balendra Shah, the parliamentary party leader of the National Independent Party (RIP), will take the oath of office as Prime Minister.
