Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSWP) Joint General Secretary Bipin Acharya has said that there has been no discussion in the party so far about what to do with the political appointments made by the previous government.
Acharya has expressed ignorance about the messages and propaganda given by the RSWP leaders to those who had previously taken political appointments in various bodies to 'return and pave the way' through various means.
Acharya has said that since this is a sensitive and complex issue, decisions should not be made on such appointments without in-depth discussion and creating a framework. Speaking on Kantipur Television's program 'Fireside', Acharya argued that good preparations should be made for the system of making appointments made by the government based on merit. He said, 'We may also have to make political appointments.' However, the narrative has been prepared that political appointments are made on the basis of bargaining and negotiation.'
Acharya has pointed out that merit-based appointments, transparency and a framework should be prepared to reach the right person at the right place at the right time. 'These 3 elements need to be worked on. This should not be done in a reactive manner in two days,' Acharya added, 'It would be wrong to comment on this without a thorough discussion in the party and without setting a concrete method for the future path.'
An interview with Acharya on the Balendra Shah-led government, the size of the Council of Ministers and its priorities will be broadcast on 'Fireside' at 9 pm today, Monday. The program can also be watched on Kantipur TV's YouTube channel and Kantipur TV app.
