UML leader and former minister Bhim Acharya, who was facing a corruption case for alleged irregularities in the construction of Pokhara International Airport, has been released on bail.
He appeared before the special court on Monday and was released on bail. A bench of judges Narayan Prasad Poudel, Hemanta Rawal and Umesh Koirala had demanded a bail of Rs 250,000 from Acharya.
Special court spokesperson Yagya Raj Regmi said that Acharya has been released on bail.
The CIAA claims that irregularities occurred due to an unnatural increase in the cost of the airport when Acharya was the tourism minister. The CIAA had filed a case against him and others in the special court on December 21.
