The National Statistics Office has prepared a survey of private health institutions (hospitals) across the country.

The survey has been started to study how much private health institutions have contributed to the country's gross domestic product, said Tirtharaj Baral, director of the Statistics Office. According to him, private community hospitals across the country will be surveyed by enumerators. He said that the data will be collected from the upcoming Baisakh to mid-Ashar.

'Currently, the selection of employees hired on contract is underway. We will train those employees,' he said, 'and we will send those employees to the hospitals to collect data.'

According to him, the survey will collect data on the financial condition of the hospitals, the number of jobs provided by the hospitals, and other data.

The office said that it would conduct a survey of private health institutions every 10 years, but he said that there has been a delay of a few years.

In a survey conducted in 2013, private health institutions contributed less than 1 percent to the country's gross domestic product, informed the office's director, Baral. At that time, a survey was conducted in 100 hospitals. This time, preparations are underway to conduct a survey in 2,551 hospitals across the country.
