Thirty-three Nepali workers reached Bahrain on Saturday after 21 days of being stranded in Kuwait due to the US-Iran war. The workers reached Bahrain with the facilitation of the Nepali embassies in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. Seven of them are women.

After the Nepali Embassy in Riyadh coordinated with the Saudi government to issue Saudi visas, the Nepali Embassy in Kuwait reached Bahrain via land route.

It is about 550 kilometers to travel from Kuwait to Bahrain via Saudi Arabia. Most of them have been sent to work at McDonald's.

Kuwait Airport has been closed since February 28. The workers who were stranded in Kuwait were kept in a hotel. The Non-Resident Nepali Association, Kuwait had arranged for food.
