The Bagmati Cleanup Campaign, which started with the slogan 'Two hours of volunteering a week for the nation', has managed three metric tons of non-degradable waste from the Bagmati Bridge area in Sinamangal. The waste collected from today's cleanup was managed by Kathmandu Metropolitan City.

Former Chief Secretary and Nepali Ambassador to China Leelamani Poudel, ward member of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-9 Nawaraj Adhikari, and employees of the Empowered Bagmati Committee were present at the cleanup, said campaigner Kishore Singh Shahi.

Today is the 671st series of the Bagmati Cleanup Campaign, which started on 2070 Jestha 5. Since the campaign began, the Bagmati River has been cleaned for about two hours every Saturday morning.

Inspired by the cleanup campaign, a cleanup campaign has started in Kathmandu in its tributaries, various sections of the Ring Road, and river areas outside the capital. During the recent cleanup campaign, the local level concerned has been managing non-biodegradable waste by making compost from biodegradable waste.
