The Election Commission has stated that there was some delay in releasing the final results as the votes entered digitally from the proportional representation constituency were verified by requesting hard copies.
The Election Officer's office should immediately enter the results of the vote counting digitally and send a certified copy of it to the commission. A commission official said, "There has been some delay in verifying the digitally entered vote results as per the hard copy."
He said that the counting has been completed everywhere and the verification work is almost complete. The official said that the digital entry was made from Kathmandu constituency number 10 and that work is being done to understand it as there are general discrepancies in the hard copy received from there.
He mentioned that the commission is preparing to release the results for the proportional representation as soon as it is clear. Out of a total of 18.93689 voters, 11.12455 people have participated in the vote. Out of which 18.84982 votes are valid. All of them have been counted. But the vote details of only 18.35 million people have been made public on the commission's website. Details of 14,000 registered votes are yet to be submitted.
The commission's assistant spokesperson Kul Prasad GC said that the process of verifying the digitally entered votes against the hard copy has almost been completed. He said that preparations are underway to release the results for the proportional representation even if it is late today.
