A team from the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) has reached Surkhet to conduct further investigation into the rape and murder of 16-year-old Inisha Bik from Surkhet.
The Surkhet District Police Office has said that the first phase of the investigation has been completed in the district and has sought the assistance of the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) for further investigation.
The Bureau's expert team, led by a police inspector, arrived in Birendranagar on Thursday, said Sudhir Raj Shahi, Superintendent of Police of the Surkhet District Police Office.
'The postmortem report has arrived.' We have sent the mobile phones and electronic devices of both the victim and the perpetrator's family to the forensic lab for investigation,' he said. 'We have sent them to the Central Forensic Science Laboratory for toxicological and bioserological tests.' Once that report comes, we will reach the final conclusion of Inisha's murder.'
According to Superintendent Shahi, along with the formation of an expert team at the District Police Office, Surkhet, a polygraph team from the Karnali Province Police Office, Nepalgunj has also arrived.
'Polygraphy will detect if a person is lying. The police have sent all the evidence from the scene of the incident to the laboratory to determine the cause of death,' Shahi said. 'The police are investigating the postmortem report, polygraphy, call details and all the electronic evidence between the teenager and the teenager.'
