Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump have held a telephone conversation. The nearly hour-long call focused on international developments, Kremlin foreign affairs adviser Yuri Ushakov told reporters.
The ongoing war in Iran and the resolution of the Russia-Ukraine conflict were discussed. Ushakov said the dialogue between the two leaders was “professional, open and constructive” and that both expressed their desire to continue regular contact in the coming days.

He said that the disruption in the Strait of Hormuz, in particular, could halt oil production in the Gulf and raise prices on the world market. He said that despite the developments, Russia would continue to supply oil and gas to its partner countries.
Russia also criticized the US and Israel's ongoing attacks on Iran. Putin congratulated Iran's new Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei. He said that Russia will always support Iran.
