The air security situation in the Gulf region has become unstable after the US and Israel carried out military operations targeting Iran's nuclear facilities, missile installations and top leadership. Due to this situation, Nepal Airlines Corporation is going to operate a special rescue flight on Wednesday night targeting passengers stranded in Dubai and Kathmandu for the past 12 days. According to the Corporation's General Manager Amritman Shrestha, the rescue flight will be operated at 11:15 pm on Wednesday by a wide-body aircraft targeting passengers who had to go to Dubai before the attack on Iran on Falgun 16 and return to Kathmandu from Dubai.

The Corporation's aircraft is scheduled to reach Dubai on Wednesday and return to Kathmandu from there at 4 am local time. Anil Ghimire, Head of the Corporation's Marketing Department, informed that priority will be given to passengers who have already booked tickets for the flight. According to him, the Corporation has no plans to accommodate more passengers by selling new tickets. "The corporation is going to make its first flight on the 12th day after the Gulf countries imposed restrictions on their skies after the attack on Iran," Ghimire said. "The aircraft will be flown after arranging additional insurance (war risk insurance) for this flight."

The corporation has stated that priority will be given to passengers arriving first on the basis of seat availability on the flight. The remaining passengers will be accommodated in flights operating in the coming days. In addition, the corporation has clarified that additional fees will not be charged from passengers when rescheduling tickets.

The corporation has also pointed out the possibility that the flight may be canceled again due to the ongoing security situation in the Gulf region. If such a situation occurs, the corporation has informed that it cannot bear financial or other obligations for any passenger. Under normal circumstances, the corporation used to operate flights to Dubai six days a week except Tuesdays.

However, after the attack on Iran on Falgun 16, flights to Dubai, Qatar and Dammam in Saudi Arabia have also been affected.

The corporation has already suspended these flights by issuing a notice for the 13th time on Tuesday. Currently, the airline was operating flights to Doha five days a week and Dammam two days a week.
