Police have arrested four people on charges of involvement in the death of a 16-year-old girl in Birendranagar, Surkhet. Inisha BK, a resident of Gurbhakot Municipality-6 and a student of Class 11 at Usha Balbatika School in Birendranagar, died on Falgun 23.
She was found unconscious in the Janajagaran Community Forest Area in Birendranagar-4. Relatives had taken her to the Provincial Hospital in Kalagaun for treatment. However, the hospital declared her dead.
The family of the deceased has filed a complaint of manslaughter and rape on suspicion of murder after gang rape, said Mohan Jung Budhapa, spokesperson and DSP of the District Police Office, Surkhet.
According to the police, a 16-year-old boy was arrested on the afternoon of the 23rd after the incident. Police said that three other people were also taken into custody on Falgun 24 during further investigation.
According to the family, Inisha left home at around 6 am, saying that she was going to study tuition. Police found Janajagaran unconscious in the community forest area.
The incident is being seriously investigated and the police have stated that the clear cause of the incident will be revealed after the post-mortem report is received.
