Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has informed that he had a phone conversation with Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSWP) President Ravi Lamichhane and senior leader Balendra Shah.
He mentioned on social media on Monday evening that he congratulated both leaders and the RSWP on their resounding victory in the House of Representatives elections held on Falgun 21. He also mentioned that he wished the new government and Nepal-India cooperation for mutual benefit and prosperity.
He wrote- 'I am confident that India-Nepal relations will reach new heights in the coming years through our joint efforts.'
The RSWP, which won 125 seats in the House of Representatives elections directly, is also getting a large number of votes in the ongoing proportional representation vote count, making it clear that it will form a government with a majority. The Election Commission has stated that the proportional representation vote count will end by Tuesday.
