Rajunath Pandey of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has won Kathmandu-3. He received 18,757 votes. According to the Election Commission, his nearest rival, Kulman Ghising of the Ujjaya Nepal Party, received 11,171 votes. Ramesh Aryal of the Nepali Congress received 6,000 votes and Rameshwor Phuyal of the UML received 3,816 votes. The winner, 55-year-old Pandey, is the former chief of the Kathmandu Metropolitan City.
