Former Education Minister Mahavir Pun, who filed his candidacy as an independent candidate from Myagdi, is ahead of his nearest rival by 3,437 votes. According to the results released by the Election Commission, Pun has received 5,508 votes so far.

UML's Harikrishna Shrestha is trailing him with 2,071 votes. Arjun Bahadur Thapa of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) is in third place. He has received 1,656 votes so far. Congress candidate Karna Bahadur Bhandari has received only 1,497 votes. Former Minister Pun has been supported by the National Independent Party (NISP). Pun became the Minister of Education, Science and Technology after the Gen-G movement. He resigned from the post of minister and reached Myagdi on 6 Magh, the day of filing his candidacy.
