The helicopter carrying senior Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leader Balendra Shah has not arrived in Jhapa, said Chandragadhi Airport Chief Kishore Kumar Khatri. It was reported that Shah went to Jhapa by helicopter after voting in Kathmandu and was not allowed to land.

Khatri, the head of the Civil Aviation Authority at Chandragadhi Airport, said, 'The helicopter carrying Balendra Shah has not arrived. There is a rumor that he came and did not land. There is no question of not giving permission to land after he arrived.'

The Election Commission has also said that there is no question of not giving permission to land after obtaining permission to fly the helicopter. Acting Chief Election Commissioner Ram Prasad Bhandari said, 'There is no question of not allowing a helicopter to land after obtaining permission to fly. If we were not allowing it to land, why would we give permission?'

Shah, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) candidate from Jhapa-5, was reported to have departed for Jhapa from Kathmandu at around 9:30 am on Thursday in a helicopter with the call sign 9N-AOB of Heli Everest. However, sources close to Shah claimed that he returned to Kathmandu without landing at the scheduled destination.
