Under the UAE's cybercrime law, those spreading false information can face a minimum of one year in prison and a fine of 1 to 1 million dirhams.

Strict action against those spreading false information in the UAE

The UAE has been warned not to spread false information about the war.

Earlier, videos of huge buildings in Dubai and Abu Dhabi collapsing and people fleeing went viral on social media. Some of the videos were real, but most were created by AI.

The UAE has instructed not to share or repost such  false information and rumors.

The UAE Public Prosecutor's Office has stated that action will be taken against those spreading false information according to the law. The office has urged that only information coming from official and approved sources be shared. 

Under the UAE's cybercrime law,  those spreading false information can be imprisoned for a minimum of one year and fined between 1 and 1 million dirhams.
