Chitwan police arrested a person on Wednesday on charges of creating a deepfake video using AI and posting it on social media as a message from Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
According to DSP Rabindra Khanal, spokesperson of the Chitwan District Police Office, Nanda Prasad Bhatta of Bharatpur Metropolitan City-16 was arrested for an offense under the Electronic Transactions Act.
