Nearly 3,800 passengers were directly affected when Nepal's international flights were affected on Sunday due to airspace restrictions. Passengers were stranded at Tribhuvan International Airport after both arrival and departure flights were disrupted. Six Qatar Airways flights on the Doha-Kathmandu-Doha route were affected, affecting around 1,200 passengers. Similarly, six FlyDubai flights on the Dubai route were affected, affecting around 1,000 passengers. Four Air Arabia flights on the Sharjah route were affected, affecting around 500 passengers, while two Jazeera Airways flights on the Kuwait route were affected, affecting around 250 passengers.
Similarly, two flights of Air Arabia Abu Dhabi to Abu Dhabi route were affected, affecting about 280 passengers. Two flights of Nepali airline Himalaya Airlines to Dubai and Doha were affected, affecting about 300 passengers. Meanwhile, a flight of Nepal Airlines Corporation to Dubai was canceled, affecting about 200 passengers.
NAA spokesperson Bhul said that international flights have been disrupted due to airspace restrictions and coordination is being done with the concerned airlines to manage the affected passengers and resume flights. The NAA has requested passengers to stay in touch with the concerned airlines for information regarding their flights.
