Nepalis working in Qatar say - 'A missile fragment fell near the camp where we live'

A disused missile fragment fell on the Argentine camp in Ukir, Qatar. An eyewitness Nepali worker told Ikantipur that there were no human casualties.

Qatar had disused the missile that Iran had fired at the US military base in Qatar in the sky. A part of the disused missile fell on the premises of the camp where Nepalese and other migrant workers live. About five thousand Nepalis live inside the premises.

Hari Adhikari, who has been working in Qatar for four years, said that the fragment that fell near the villa where he lives exploded and burned the vehicles. ‘A disused missile fragment fell on the vehicles about a hundred meters from the villa where I live. Some vehicles have burned. No one was hurt,’ said the official working in Doha. ‘I was in the room a short time before it fell. I heard the sound of the missile exploding in the sky and went out. We were watching the missile detonate. At that time, we saw the detonated missile spinning and falling down from above. We managed to escape a little further from there.'

He said that the situation has now returned to normal. 'Today was my day off. I was sitting in my room. Friends are coming and going from work,' he said, 'This is the first time we have seen something like this. Friends were watching, taking photos, making videos. I did not make any videos.'
