The Supreme Court has ordered the release of NCP (Majority) General Secretary Dharmendra Raj Bastola. On Thursday, a joint bench of Justices Kumar Regmi and Nityananda Pandey ordered Bastola's release.

Police had arrested Bastola on charges of being involved in boycotting the House of Representatives elections scheduled for Falgun 21. Savitri Kumari Wali had filed a writ of habeas corpus against his arrest on Falgun 20.
