A motorcycle rider and a passenger on the motorcycle have died after being hit by a truck in Hetauda Sub-metropolitan City-19, Bastipur.
A motorcycle (Na 43 Pa 221) heading towards Manahari from Hetauda Bazaar was hit by a truck (Ga 2 Kha 898) coming from Newarpani towards Hetauda. In the accident, 22-year-old motorcycle rider Sanjit Syangtan of Raksirang Rural Municipality-1 and 18-year-old Amosh Thing, the rider on the back of the same motorcycle, died.
Both were seriously injured in the accident. The injured died during treatment at Churehill Hospital in Hetauda, according to Makawanpur Police.
The truck hit the vehicle and fled. The police have taken the truck under control from the garage at Pratima Chowk in Birgunj Metropolitan City-13. The truck driver is a resident of Bara Jitpur Simara Sub-metropolitan City-3. Police have said that 36-year-old Anil Sah is absconding.
