The army, which has been deployed in the outer perimeter for polling station security by setting up temporary bases in 165 constituencies, has been deployed in such a way that if there is any anti-election activity or an unpleasant situation arises, the army can reach the scene within 20 minutes.

About 71,000 police, about 35,000 armed forces and 149,000 election police are deployed for security. Army Chief Sigdel said that it is everyone's national responsibility to conduct the election without fear and instructed to deploy after considering this.

On Tuesday alone, Prime Minister Sushila Karki had inquired about the election security and the work being done with the Ministries of Home Affairs and Defense and the heads of all four security agencies. On Tuesday itself, the Central Security Committee and the Election Commission held a high-level election security committee meeting to discuss election management and security.
