Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal has urged for a clean, fair and fear-free environment for the House of Representatives elections to be held on Falgun 21.
During an on-site inspection and monitoring of various polling stations in Makawanpur, Home Minister Aryal expressed confidence that all parties would cooperate to conduct the elections in a peaceful and fear-free environment and mentioned that the active participation of the general public was necessary to make the elections successful in a peaceful environment.
Home Minister Aryal, who is also the government spokesperson, had requested all concerned to be aware of the falsehoods, lies and misinformation being spread on social media and to prepare for their respective constituencies.
On matters related to election preparation and security management, Home Secretary Rajkumar Shrestha, Security Coordination Division Chief Joint Secretary and Spokesperson Anand Kafle, Kathmandu Chief District Officer Ishwor Raj Poudel, Kathmandu Police Chief (SSP) Ramesh Thapa and other high-ranking officials were present.
A team including Minister Aryal inspected the polling station of Seti Devi Secondary School in Pharping, Dakshinkali Municipality-9 and monitored the Kalika Secondary School polling station in Fakhel Chaurasthi, Indrasarobar Rural Municipality-4, Makawanpur. During the event, the District Security Committee of Makawanpur District Chief District Officer Basanta Adhikari informed about the security situation in the district.
Discussions were held in the presence of the Rural Municipality Chairman Devkrishna Pudasaini on monitoring and election security issues. Makawanpur Chief District Officer Basanta Adhikari, the district's Janpath, Armed Police and National Investigation Chief were also present during the monitoring.
Similarly, a team including Minister Aryal inspected the Indrasarobar outpost and took information about the security situation in the district.
Minister Aryal gave necessary instructions regarding security management and mobilization after taking a briefing on the security of the areas around the borders of both districts, including polling stations, and the mobilization of security personnel.
