Prime Minister Sushila Karki has prayed for the peaceful completion of the February 21 House of Representatives elections and the maintenance of peace, stability, and good governance in the country.

She has expressed her happiness by visiting Lumbini, the source of peace, by writing her feelings in the visitor's book on the temple premises.

She arrived here on Saturday by army helicopter and recited the Panchasheel and Buddha Bandana with the nuns inside the Mayadevi Temple. She then lit a lamp at the Ashoka Pillar. Before that, she visited Lumbini Museum, Royal Thai Monastery, World Peace Stupa and Bajrayan Vihar. She arrived at 10:30 am and left for the capital at 2 pm.

Lumbini Development Trust Member Secretary Deepak Shrestha and Senior Director Gyanin Rai informed Prime Minister Karki about the historical and archaeological importance of Lumbini, excavation and conservation efforts, and the Lumbini Development Master Plan.

Earlier on Saturday morning, Prime Minister Karki addressed a joint meeting of Lumbini Province security officials in Butwal and sought information from all security agency heads about the security situation in the province.
