The Ministry of Home Affairs has appealed to maintain tolerance, harmony and mutual respect among all religions and communities.

The Central Security Committee meeting held at the ministry on Saturday under the chairmanship of Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal reviewed the current security situation. The meeting was attended by high-ranking officials of all four security agencies.

The meeting stated that the ministry's serious attention has been drawn to the incidents in some districts of the Terai and Madhesh, including Rautahat and Dang, that have seriously affected religious tolerance and harmony, disrupted religious and social harmony, set fire to and vandalized public and private property, burned political party flags and other activities prohibited by law, and undermined social harmony and dignity.

A statement issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs' Joint Spokesperson, Deputy Secretary Rama Acharya Subedi, states that spreading hatred between different religions, castes, classes or communities and encouraging violent activities are punishable under the law.

The ministry has said that it is closely monitoring such activities and taking action against the culprits by bringing them to justice.
