Youth arrested for beating police in Pashupati on Shivaratri

A few days ago, a video of a youth assaulting and kicking a uniformed police officer went viral on social media. The public video clearly shows the scene inside the Pashupatinath Temple premises. The police tried to arrest the youth who attacked the police officer who was providing security, but he escaped in the crowded Shivaratri.

On Tuesday, the police had issued a search notice on social media for the youth who attacked the police officer. SSP Ramesh Thapa of the Kathmandu Valley Police Range said that the youth who assaulted the police officer has been arrested.

According to the police, Rijan Shrestha, who has a permanent residence in Makawanpur Thuladmar and currently lives in Chagal, Kathmandu Metropolitan City-13, was arrested from Swayambhu.
