A military vehicle carrying a public bus reserve for patrolling fell into Seti Bagar near Temkemaiyung, Bhojpur Municipality-4, injuring 22 soldiers, including the driver and two co-drivers.
10 of the injured have been brought to Kathmandu by a Nepali Army helicopter. According to Nepali Army Spokesperson Assistant Rathi Rajaram Basnet, all those brought to Kathmandu are being treated at Birendra Army Hospital in Kathmandu. Six of the injured are being treated at the Nepali Army's Eastern Region Headquarters, Itahari, and the rest are being treated at the District Hospital, Bhojpur.
According to DSP Raju Lama of the District Police Office, Bhojpur, the military vehicle carrying election security fell into Seti Bagar about 500 meters below the Mid-Hill Highway in Temkemaiyung, Bhojpur. DSP Lama said that the vehicle was found stuck in a tree and the injured were rescued from there and taken to various hospitals for treatment.
The hospital and security agencies have not released further details about the condition of the injured.
The same vehicle met with an accident while the army was patrolling for security purposes ahead of the February 21 election.
