President Ram Chandra Poudel has urged the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority to investigate and prosecute without succumbing to pressure and influence.
At a program organized on the occasion of the 35th Authority Day on Wednesday, Poudel said that it should not be forgotten that the Gen-G movement was for good governance.
He said that democracy will not reach the people's homes without good governance and transparency. He urged the Authority to bring all types of corruption under the ambit of investigation.
President Poudel said that since the trust of the citizens is in the Authority for good governance, it should be maintained. He said that the fight against corruption can only be completed through the collective efforts of everyone.
He said that corruption can be controlled only through strong political commitment. He said that if we move forward with integrity, morality, literacy, and transparency, good governance will be maintained and corruption will be controlled.
He said, "I expect the commission to investigate corruption without giving in to pressure and influence, regardless of the size or the number of the culprits, and bring them to justice."
