Politician Sumana Shrestha has said that those who suppress the movement while in government should be held accountable.

Speaking at the final session of the Kantipur Conclave on Tuesday on 'Policy, Leaders and Leadership', she asked, 'Why was no action taken against the repression carried out using state resources?'

She said that the government had repressed the Tinkune protest on Chaitra 15 and the Genji movement on Bhadra 23. 'There has been misuse of power while in power. The guilty should be punished. Do you always say forget the past? No action was ever taken,' Ulane said.

She said that no action was taken against the government party that repressed the 2062/063 people's movement. She commented that if the guilty are not punished, impunity will increase and the incident will repeat itself.
