The Supreme Court has refused to release him on bail, ordering that he be released in accordance with the law.
The Supreme Court has upheld the order to send Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAN) Director General Pradeep Adhikari to pre-trial detention.
The bench of Justices Hari Prasad Phuyal and Shantisingh Thapa upheld the order of the special court. After the special court sent him to custody, Adhikari had approached the Supreme Court with petition number 73 against it.
The Supreme Court has refused to release him on bail, ordering that it be done in accordance with the law. After the Supreme Court's order, Adhikari will now remain in custody. Earlier, on 21 Mangsir, the special court had ordered Adhikari to be sent to custody for trial.
A joint bench of Justices Hemanta Rawal, Dilliratna Shrestha and Bidur Koirala had given such an order.
The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority had filed a case against Adhikari and Bhandari, including five others, in the special court on 17 Mangsir, claiming a huge amount of corruption of Rs 135.746 million in the construction of a heliport in Nalinchowk.
