Printing has been completed in 60 constituencies and packing has been completed for 25 districts.
Prime Minister Sushila Karki has inquired about the progress of ballot printing for the House of Representatives elections.
She inspected the printing house of Janak Shiksha Samagi Kendra Limited and inquired about the printing of ballot papers today. Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Anil Kumar Sinha, Chief Election Commissioner Ram Prasad Bhandari and officials of the Election Commission were also in the team.
For the House of Representatives elections to be held on 21 Falgun, the Commission has printed 1 million 98 thousand 200 sample ballot papers and sent them to various districts.
The Commission has started printing proportional ballot papers from 26th Jan and has printed, packed and verified the required 28 lakh 30 thousand by 13th Magh, the Commission has stated. Those ballot papers will now be transported.
Similarly, for the first elected system, out of the required 23 lakh 23 thousand, 72 lakh 60 thousand have been printed. The printing of direct ballot papers had started since 16th Magh.
Printing and packing have been completed for 25 districts, including the Himalayan and some hilly ones. The commission said that printing of 60 constituencies had been completed by Thursday morning.
