A 4-year-old girl has died after being hit by a vehicle while campaigning for Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) candidate Sheikh Sagir from Rautahat Constituency No. 2.
On Thursday afternoon, a car with the registration number Ba 15 Cha 4244 hit Mohammad Sagir's 4-year-old daughter Alfa Khatun at Mathiyatol in Ishanath Municipality-4 of Rautahat. Police said the car hit the girl while the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh candidate Sagir was doing house-to-house work in Mathiya village. The seriously injured girl was taken to the City Hospital in Gaur for treatment after the collision. The driver fled after leaving the injured girl at the hospital. The girl was then taken to the Provincial Hospital in Gaur for further treatment. Police said the girl was declared dead by doctors in Gaur. A search is underway for the absconding driver, said DSP Bishnu Prasad Basyal of the District Police Office. Police said further investigation into the incident is underway.
