A photo that appears to show actor Rajesh Hamal and actress Rekha Thapa appealing to vote for the 'star' symbol is going viral on social media.
The viral photo shows actor Hamal on the right. Along with his photo, the message reads, 'Heartfelt appeal! Rajesh Hamal says, "I am not affiliated with any party, but by voting for the ⭐ star once again, Prachanda should be given the responsibility of taking charge of the country for a while. In the current situation, there is a need for a leader with experience, struggle and clear vision, and only Prachanda can shoulder that responsibility."
Similarly, on the left, with a photo of actress Rekha Thapa, it reads, 'Rekha Thapa says, "I beg with folded hands. A society that does not trust and respect a senior leader like Prachanda Ba is like a house without doors. Today, the country needs Prachanda Ba once again."'
The post appears to have been made public by a Facebook account named 'Abhilash Mainali' at 2:23 pm on Wednesday. By the time of writing, the post has received more than 10,000 reactions, more than 1,400 comments and more than 1,100 shares.
But actress Rekha Thapa has said that both the picture and the message are misleading. 'My old advertisement picture has been brought and misused now,' Thapa told Kantipur, 'I have not made any appeal to vote for Prachanda.'
It has not been confirmed that actor Hamal has also made the appeal as shown in the viral post.
