Acting Chief Election Commissioner Ram Prasad Bhandari has said that necessary action has been taken on complaints of violation of the election code of conduct.

Speaking to media persons after a press monitoring of the Janak Education Materials Center, the venue for printing the ballot papers, on Thursday, Bhandari informed that the commission has received complaints of code of conduct violations against some candidates. He said that the necessary investigation is underway on those complaints and clarifications from the candidates are being sought. He said that the commission will take the necessary decision after studying the complaints received.

Acting Chief Election Commissioner Bhandari said that preparations for the election are progressing rapidly and the election will be held on the scheduled date and time.

The printing of ballot papers for the direct election to be held on 21 Falgun is ongoing. The commission has stated that 7.26 million ballot papers have been printed so far and 5,825 boxes have been packed. It is estimated that a total of 23.23 million ballot papers will be required. Similarly, the printing of 28.30 million ballot papers required for the proportional election system has been completed and kept ready for transportation.
