The government has approved the withdrawal of the Bill 2081 BS, which was drafted to make provisions regarding the operation, use and regulation of social media, from the Federal Parliament.
Tuesday's cabinet meeting decided to approve the withdrawal of the bill from the parliament.
The bill was under consideration in the National Assembly. A new bill will now have to be submitted to make a law to regulate social media.
Similarly, the cabinet has decided to approve the amendment to the master plan of the Singha Durbar complex to construct a statue of the martyrs of the Gen-G movement in the under-construction parliament building complex, Singha Durbar.
