The Election Commission has removed the names of 76 candidates from the closed list of proportional representation.
According to commission spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai, the names of 76 people were removed from the blacklist based on complaints filed against the candidates, their qualifications, and information received from various parties.
The commission has removed the names of 31 people, including 21 based on information from the Credit Information Center and 10 for not paying the Election Commission's fine. Similarly, 25 people whose names were included in the blacklist of the provincial assembly, four who were under 25 years of age, one who was not included in the voter list, two who were not in the backward areas of the voter list, one who was nominated as a male candidate instead of a female candidate, 10 whose names were requested to be removed by political parties, and two for other reasons have been removed.
