The Election Commission has removed the names of 76 people from the proportional representation closed list. These names were removed from the closed list submitted to the commission by various parties.

The commission has stated that their names were removed as they were deemed ineligible for candidacy as per the law.

The names of 21 candidates who were blacklisted by the Credit Information Center, 25 who were on the blacklist of the Provincial Assembly members under the proportional electoral system, 10 who had paid the fine prescribed by the Election Commission, four who had not completed 25 years of age, one who was not included in the voter list, one who had submitted a male candidate when a female candidate was required to be submitted, and two who were not in an area where the voter list was backward have been removed.

Similarly, the commission has informed that the names of 10 candidates who had written to the political party concerned to remove their names and two who had more than one reason have been removed.
