Nepal's first 'cruise ship', which was in the news during its construction and became almost anonymous after its operation, has changed its station.
The new station of the cruise ship, which was built in Kabreghat of Bharatpur Metropolitan City-16 on the banks of the Narayani River and started operating from there three years ago, is in Gaindakot, across from Narayangadh. The company operating the cruise has also got a new partner.
The cruise ship is going to be operated in partnership with Hotel River Crown Pvt. Ltd., located on the banks of the Narayani River in Gaindakot. Rhino Water Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. had built the cruise. Although it looks like a ship, the truj is not used for water transport and transportation, but for recreational river-based activities. The company has prepared various programs that can be done on the cruise.
The cruise, with a ticket price of five hundred rupees, can include programs such as breakfast, lunch and dinner truj, said Deepak Dhungel, Managing Director of Rhino Cruise. He said that the cost of breakfast and dinner will range from Rs 1,500 to Rs 3,000. He informed that programs like weddings, fasts, wedding anniversaries, birthdays, and wedding anniversaries can also be held on the cruise. ‘Other big special programs can also be held,’ said Dhungel. Although the 95-foot-long and 21-foot-wide cruise can accommodate 200 people, it can currently serve a maximum of 150 people, he said. The three-story cruise will be operated by a licensed captain from Kolkata, India. The cruise was prepared by technicians from Kerala, India, after spending about four years in Kabreghat. The cruise, built at a cost of about Rs 150 million, was formally put into operation on Magh 1, 2079 BS. The cruise has been shifted to a new station near the bazaar after there was not much activity at the Kabreghat station, located about 6 km west of the Narayangadh market area. Although it has been approved to operate up to 40 km in Narayani, it is currently not possible to operate that distance.
Dhungel said that the river is changing its course, so it is not possible to operate the cruise there, so it is currently operating up to four km. He said that a depth of at least two meters is required to operate the cruise. He said that he has planned to operate it around Narayangadh and up to Devghat. ‘This is not for an exciting experience. It does not run like a motorboat. It is for sitting and enjoying entertainment,’ he said. He said that the cruise will have a facility where you can float on the water and enjoy food while eating along with songs and music. There is a stage on the cruise for songs and dances. He said that the cruise, which has been put into operation with the approval of the Ministry of Tourism, has well-organized security arrangements. He said that since river tourism is increasing, the government agency Shipping Office also needs to address the policy.
Dr. Tilchandra Bhattarai, chairman of Hotel River Crown and former central member of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, which has partnered in the cruise operation, said that a new dimension of water tourism has been added to Chitwan and its surroundings, which is famous for religious and wildlife tourism. "We are increasing water tourism by taking into account the dignity and environment of the river. This will increase economic activity," Bhattarai said.
Madan Bhakta Adhikari, Mayor of Gaindakot Municipality, said that the cruise should be put into operation by connecting the religious sites of Devghat and Trivenidham areas. Managing Director Deepak Dhungel says that the cruise is useful for religious travel and sightseeing.
