High-level organizing committee formed for 12th World Conference of Non-Resident Nepalis

The committee, chaired by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, includes members of the National Planning Commission, secretaries of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and secretaries of the Ministries of Finance, Industry, Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs.

High-level organizing committee formed for 12th World Conference of Non-Resident Nepalis

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has formed a high-level organizing committee to organize the 12th World Conference of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRA).

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the committee has been formed to prepare for the 12th World Conference of the Non-Resident Nepali Association to be held in Nepal from Falgun 29 to Chaitra 2 (March 14-16, 2026) as per the ministerial decision.

The committee formed under the chairmanship of the Minister of Foreign Affairs includes members of the National Planning Commission, secretaries of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies, and the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs. Similarly, the Chief Executive Officer of the Investment Board of Nepal, the Joint Secretary of the Labor Immigration and Nepali Diaspora Coordination Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Joint Secretary of the Economic Diplomacy Division are also members of the committee.

The President of the Non-Resident Nepali Association, Badri KC, President Mahesh Kumar Shrestha and the Chief Executive Officer of the association are also members of the committee. From the private sector, the presidents of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Confederation of Nepalese Industries and Nepal Chamber of Commerce have been included in the committee. The details of the committee have been informed to the Non-Resident Nepali Association through a letter signed by Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ramkaji Khadka.

The government has stated that it is organizing the conference with special importance with the objective of linking the investment, skills and knowledge of non-resident Nepalis with national development. The conference is expected to discuss diaspora policy, investment promotion, employment creation and Nepal's international image.
