Home Minister Aryal made the remarks while inaugurating the National Martyrs and Peace Park (Civil Park) in Gokarneshwor, Kathmandu, on Friday.
'The definition and understanding of democracy will be further enriched through the recent Gen-G movement,' said Minister Aryal. Similarly, he said that the government is currently working on its service delivery with greater priority. 'The incident on the 23rd was a mockery of humanity,' said Minister Aryal. 'We should have stopped this, but the incident on the 24th meant that the nation would go up and down and that the nation would be in a state of upheaval. We stopped it and now peace has been restored and the situation has normalized.'
Stating that there will be no compromise on the peace, security and protection of the rights of the nation, Minister Aryal stressed that today's generation should take inspiration from the ideals of the martyrs and move forward with honesty, duty and patriotism to make the sacrifices of the martyrs meaningful through their conduct, decisions and deeds.
Stating that the government is committed to fulfilling the dreams of the martyrs, Minister Aryal said that strengthening peace, good governance, social justice, inclusive development and the rule of law would be the true respect for the martyrs.
The program, chaired by Minister for Forests and Environment Madhav Prasad Chaulagain, was attended by security officials, local level public representatives, martyrs' families, and others.
