UML General Secretary Shankar Pokharel has accused National Independent Party President Rabi Lamichhane of being involved in the management of cooperative-related cases and money laundering cases.

‘The influence of populists in the urban areas is decreasing compared to before. Because the independent party president’s cooperative cases, organized crime cases and money laundering cases have been cleared by using the state to give himself away,’ he said in a conversation with Kantipur, ‘There is suspicion of him even among ordinary citizens.’

Senior Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leader Balendra Shah has commented that he appears weak as the mayor of Kathmandu. ‘The way Balendra Shah moved forward with the plan to change the metropolis and in fact, the metropolis remained the weakest capital spending metropolis among the metropolises in Nepal,’ he said, ‘He has dreamed of becoming the prime minister on the basis of populism without completing his term.’

He said that Shah is trying to come into the spotlight by running for Jhapa 5. ‘Ravi Lamichhane, who was released from Nakkhu Jail on Bhadra 24 to become the Prime Minister, was forced to go to Nakkhu Jail again by Balen Shah’s campaign,’ he said, ‘This is a truth that everyone understands.’

He said that the main issue is to improve the situation of political instability and social chaos and move the country towards stability, development and prosperity. ‘This is our first agenda.’ Secondly, due to the legal and administrative structures of Nepal, complications arise in development processes and the private sector is not feeling comfortable working,’ he said, ‘We had tried to move the process of legal reform forward. We had also prepared and issued six ordinances. In the context of structural reform, we had tried to move the reform process forward by forming a good governance commission. But due to the recent change of government, those things have been blocked. In that sense, legal obstacles in the context of development should be removed, administrative capacity should be increased, service delivery should be made effective and good governance should be maintained. This is also the desire of the youth.'

He said in the manifesto that we want to complete the strategic development projects started by the UML. We have studied what game-changer projects can be in terms of building the foundation of Nepal's economic development,' he said, 'The state should pay special attention to areas such as education, health, employment. The situation where youth are forced to go abroad due to lack of employment should be ended.'
