Armed Forces Awards: Vindhyabasini gets Best Brigade and Bhattachan gets Lifetime Achievement

The Lumbini Province-based Bindhyabasini Vahini of the Armed Police Force (APF) has received the 'Outstanding Vahini' award.

The Armed Police Force has succeeded in becoming the best brigade based on the evaluation of the work performed by the brigades of all seven provinces in 2082. At a program organized on the occasion of the 25th founding day and silver jubilee of the force, President Ram Chandra Poudel presented the brigade award to the brigade commander of the brigade, Deputy Inspector General of Armed Police (DIG) Dipendra Kunwar, at a program organized at the Armed Police Headquarters.

The brigade was declared the best based on the evaluation of the work including border security, prevention and control of cross-border crime, internal administration, revenue collection, and customs fraud control.

The Armed Police Force has awarded the ‘Running Award’ to the Armed Police Disaster Management Training Academy, Kurintar, on the occasion of its 25th founding day, for its excellent performance in disaster management and search/rescue.

The award was given to the Commander (Chief) of Kurintar, Bharat Khaniya, from among the seven training academies across the country.

Similarly, on the occasion of Armed Police Day, Prime Minister Sushila Karki presented this year's 'Armed Police Lifetime Achievement Award' to retired Armed Police Deputy Inspector General Mahendra Bhattachan.
