The National Independent Party has urged former Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai, who had filed his candidacy from Gorkha Constituency No. 2, to withdraw his candidacy.

RSVP Vice President Swarnim Wagle has made a special appeal on social media to present an exemplary patriotic example.

'Dr. Baburam Bhattarai conceived the 'New Power' with the conclusion that the path to economic prosperity in the coming 21st century will be successful only through new and alternative political parties and campaigns, while preserving the essence of whatever achievements the old parties achieved through the struggle for system change for political and social empowerment,' Wagle wrote. 'It is well known that the rise, expansion and rise of the National Independent Party today has been possible on the alternative political foundation that has been developing since then. We believe that as a former Prime Minister, he will be able to play a senior parental role in guiding the National Independent Party.'

Wagle mentioned that there is much to be done by learning from Bhattarai's experience in the political-administrative and transitional management of the federal government that may be formed under the leadership or participation of the RSVP after Falgun 21.

'In the upcoming election on Falgun 21, we humbly request Dr. Bhattarai, who is a candidate from Gorkha Constituency No. 2, to withdraw his candidacy and present an exemplary patriotic example by generously supporting the National Independent Party in matters of political affairs in the coming days,' he said.

Bhattarai has filed his candidacy from the Progressive Democratic Party. The Rashtriya Swatantra Party has nominated its General Secretary Kavindra Burlakoti as its candidate from Gorkha-2. Prakash Chandra Dawadi from the Congress, Lekhnath Neupane from the NCP, and Milan Gurung (Milan Chakre) from the UML are in the fray.
