The Immigration Department has taken into custody a fake officer who was trying to obtain personal data of other people by showing a fake employee identity card claiming to be a branch officer of the Ministry of Home Affairs and handed him over to the District Police Complex, Bhadrakali.
The person who showed the fake identity card is Krish GC from Tanahun. He had come in civilian clothes on Friday to make himself look like a real officer. During the introduction, he said that he was a branch officer of batch 37 and had been working in the personnel administration branch of the Ministry of Home Affairs for the past four months, said Immigration Department spokesperson Tikaram Dhakal.
It is understood that he had been in contact with a prestigious hotel in Kathmandu for the past seven months by showing the fake identity card of a Home Ministry officer. A woman had cheated a hotel businessman and fled, so the hotel bouncer had sought help from the fake Home Affairs officer to recover the money. Accordingly, the fake officer had come to the Immigration Department with the hotel bouncer. He had tempted the woman who cheated in this way to stop her from traveling abroad and put her on the immigration blacklist. After appearing at the department, he showed the woman's name and demanded a copy of her passport and citizenship. Spokesperson Dhakal said that he had also requested to blacklist him.
It has been revealed that the fake officer had previously taken the identity card of a branch officer of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation. The employee reference number on his identity card, which was contacted by the Intelligence and Administration Branch of the Immigration Department, was found to be abnormal. The hotel bouncer who came with him was released by the Immigration Department after conducting a general interrogation.
