Transport services have been suspended for 5 hours daily from Thursday for the upgrading of the Harneti-Kapurkot road section under the Rapti Highway. The Road Division Office, Dang, announced the suspension of transport services.
According to the information, the road will be closed from 11 am to 4 pm daily until Magh 25. The office has urged passengers and vehicle operators to use the alternative routes Paiakhoriya-Satabas-Kimuchaur-Kapurkot, Tulsipur-Balle-Luham and Luham-Kalimati-Tulsipur roads during the road closure. Locals of Dang, Salyan, Rukum and Rolpa have been affected due to the closure.
Cutting work is underway to blacktop the road from Harneti to Kapurkot and since regular vehicle operation will affect the construction work, transport services have been closed for 6 hours daily from Thursday to Magh 25 to complete the work as soon as possible, said Dipendra Bahadur Bista, Chief of the Road Division Office, Dang.
He informed that if the construction work is completed early, the locals of Salyan-Dang-Rolpa and Rukum will get a lot of relief and will not have to travel at risk.
