UML General Secretary Shankar Pokharel has said that this is not a general election but a 'referendum'.

Writing a message on social media during the nomination registration on Tuesday, he said that this election is a referendum on peace against violence, discipline against chaos, and construction against destruction.

He said that this election is an opportunity for the people to express their opinion in favor of the constitution and democracy and against regression. He urged everyone to resolve to defeat all kinds of conspiracies that make Nepal a playground for geopolitical conflict.

He will register his candidacy from Dang Constituency No. 2 at the Election Commission office in Ghorahi shortly.
