Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) President Rabi Lamichhane has been released after submitting a bank guarantee from Prabhu Bank. The Parsa District Court had demanded a bail of Rs 10 million from Lamichhane in the case of misappropriation of funds from the Sano Paila Savings and Loan Cooperative Society.

Lamichhane, who was present in Parsa, was arrested after appearing in court on Tuesday. 

The bench of Judge Rudra Subedi had demanded bail on Tuesday after the detention hearing. The court ordered detention after the statement and demanded bail and he was released after paying the demanded amount, informed Tehsildar Devraj Bhattarai. 

The District Public Prosecutor's Office, Parsa, had registered a charge sheet in the District Court on Jestha 30 in the cooperative fraud and organized crime case, along with a demand of Rs 115.694 crore. Additional punishment has also been sought against him under Section 9 (a) and (c) of the Organized Crime Prevention Act, 2070.

After completing the investigation into the misappropriation of funds from the Sano Paila Savings and Loan Cooperative Society in Birgunj, Parsa police had submitted a report to the Public Prosecutor's Office, Parsa. Based on that, the Public Prosecutor's Office had registered a charge sheet in the District Court against 29 people including Lamichhane.

It was found that Rs 106.94 crore was transferred from Sano Payla to Gorkha Media Pvt. Ltd. and Rs 95.98 lakh to Nature Herbs Industries Pvt. Ltd.
